An important part of our culture is making MEDRAD an enjoyable and rewarding place for our employees to work. Recognizing that there are lots of ways that a company can help create an enjoyable workplace, MEDRAD encourages participation in a number of different company-sponsored programs. These programs, ranging from sports to community service, provide employees with opportunities to balance their physical, mental and emotional well-being.
All work and no play is not the MEDRAD philosophy. In fact, MEDRAD prides itself on providing employees with opportunities to meet, greet, team-build and "give back" outside of the office setting.
MEDRAD employees are involved in a number of sports activities throughout the year. Some of these activities include: Bowling League, Golf League, Corporate Crew Team, Softball League, and Volleyball.
Once every year, typically in March on a Friday, we take a day and celebrate the organization's performance, including the annual president's speech, employee awards and recognition ceremonies, corporate partnership recognition, entertainment and celebrations.
One day each year, MEDRAD suspends plant operations so that employees can spend the day in various volunteer activities. To our knowledge, it is the largest single company volunteer event in the U.S. with 700 employees volunteering in Pittsburgh and around the world. Many permanent volunteer partnerships have resulted from this very special event.
As part of our focus on Performance Excellence, we continually try to make MEDRAD a better place to work, improve corporate performance and measure progress on initiatives by asking our employees on a regular basis how we are doing. The Employee Satisfaction Survey is done two times per year, spring and fall. The results are benchmarked against The Hay Group "Best in Class" Companies.
