Adrienne - Product PlannerQ: What first attracted you to MEDRAD?
A:
Besides MEDRAD’s strong reputation in Pittsburgh, and the people I first met during my interview, the first thing that attracted me was the opportunity to use both my under graduate degree in biomedical engineering as well as my graduate degree in engineering management. I was given the opportunity to expand my practical knowledge in both of these areas by working on several dynamic projects with intelligent and energetic people and so far I haven’t been disappointed. I’m currently part of the Innovations Department that identifies and creates novel opportunities that contribute to the development of advanced concepts in the world of medical devices. I was recently given the opportunity to work on a project on developing a new device from the ground up. Our team and management recognized that each one of us has a unique and interesting input into making this device a successful one for a new innovative product for our company.

Q: How do you add value to MEDRAD?
A:
Although I’ve been at MEDRAD for just over a year, both my peers and superiors encourage me to share and implement my ideas, with the underlying understanding that my opinion and work count. I’ve been impressed with the professionalism, courtesy and overall knowledge of my co-workers which makes it a great experience and also helps challenge me to become as good as my peers and implement some of their skills into my own marketing and management style.

Q: Why choose MEDRAD?
A:
I would rank MEDRAD highly among other companies for several reasons. First of all, they offer intellectual opportunities and challenges for anyone in a technical field. They also do this in a friendly and constructive environment, and third; they offer benefit and salary packages that are extremely competitive with the market. I can why job satisfaction ranks highly at MEDRAD, especially since they incorporate employee satisfaction as one of its top five objectives in the corporate scorecard.

Q: What is your most memorable experience at MEDRAD?
A:
Last year I was given the opportunity work with a team on developing and commercializing a device that requires collaboration and coordination with our parent company. As a result, I’ve been able to travel overseas; but more importantly, I’ve been able to experience other cultures, both on a professional and personal level. This experience has been pretty satisfying and educational.
