Chris - Business Systems Manager

University of Dayton, Mechanical Engineering
Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School, MBA

Chris - Business Systems Manager Q: What first attracted you to MEDRAD?
A:
It was a combination of factors that first attracted me to MEDRAD. Not only was it their dedication of quality in the workplace, but it was also some of the extra-curricular activities that they bring; for example, a volleyball league at lunch sometimes we participate in; it’s a running club that I was attracted to -- it’s again a combination of factors that really attracted me to the culture of MEDRAD and the strong culture that they bring.

Q: How do you add value to MEDRAD?
A:
I add value to MEDRAD by challenging the status quo in terms of our processes and business solutions. For example, we currently automated a solution that used to take a lot of manual effort. Now I dug in and created a business solution and delivered it to not only our internal customers but our external customers as well.

Q: How do you make a difference at MEDRAD?
A:
I make a difference at MEDRAD not only by participating in the day-to-day work activities, but also becoming involved in MEDRAD’s culture by sponsoring events, by helping out the sporting clubs, and by participating in sporting events that MEDRAD sponsors.

Q: Why choose MEDRAD?
A:
I wouldn’t choose MEDRAD for one specific reason. I’d choose MEDRAD for the industry that they’re in, for the strong culture that they bring, for the beautiful city of Pittsburgh that presents MEDRAD’s backdrop, as well as the culture that supports the people helping people with the medical device industry. You can truly see as an output the patients that we help every day.

Q: What is your most memorable experience at MEDRAD?
A:
The most memorable experience at MEDRAD was when I first met a MEDRAD patient. She was a young girl that was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition that MEDRAD’s technology helped to diagnose and later treat. It was important to me, because not only did we meet the young girl whose life was affected but we also met her family who was also affected very positively – and seeing how our equipment directly impacted this family’s life really made a long lasting impression on me.
