MEDRAD celebrated the grand opening of its new Global Center on Tuesday, June 5. The event began with a procession of flags that represented MEDRAD's 17 global locations. Students from Marshall Middle School led the procession. Luanne Radermacher, director of corporate affairs at MEDRAD, kicked off the presentation by welcoming guests to the event. John Friel made remarks, followed by Secretary Dennis Yablonsky, Department of Community and Economic Development, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and also, Dennis Davin, director, Allegheny County Economic Development.
In
his remarks, John Friel said, "We are celebrating MEDRAD employees. No
matter what a company makes, no matter how many buildings it has, the heart
and soul of any company is its people. And boy, do we have heart and soul. Let
me recap what MEDRAD’s 1,700 employees have accomplished in recent years:
It is my privilege to work with this incredible team. In a few moments we will dedicate this building in their honor, but for now join me in a rousing round of applause for their efforts."
John Friel dedicated the new facility to the MEDRAD employees, while unveiling
a commemorative stone that will sit in a landscaped area alongside of one of
the park's walking trails.
MEDRAD’s new Global Center
incorporates energy-saving, earth-sensitive technologies as well as many onsite
amenities including natural light, a three-story great hall, a product showcase,
artwork by local artists, walking trails and training facilities. The building
design and construction is focused on saving energy and reducing the company's
carbon footprint while providing excellent function and comfort.
MEDRAD, INC. announced that it will build a new Corporate Center in the Tech 21 Research Park in Marshall Township, 18 miles north of downtown Pittsburgh. Facility construction is targeted for completion in early 2007.
"Growth is a good problem. We owe our history of growth to all MEDRAD employees, who continue to deliver innovative, high-quality products and create loyal customers. The new facility will be dedicated to them."
- John P. Friel, President / CEO MEDRAD, INC.
